Best Time to Visit Aruba: Outside the Hurricane Belt, Inside the Trade Winds

Aruba sits south of the hurricane belt with 300-plus days of sun and a constant trade wind. The question is not when the weather is good — it is when the price is.

Why this guide: about 9,900 people a month search Google for “best time to visit aruba” (US, DataForSEO Labs, September 2026). This is the answer we would give a client, written to be booked from.

The short answer

  • Best overallApril–early June and September–November (same sun, lower rates)
  • CheapestSeptember–early December (excluding US Thanksgiving)
  • AvoidChristmas–New Year and mid-January–March for peak pricing; nothing to avoid for weather

The climate that does not change

Aruba's daytime high is 28–32°C in every month; annual rainfall is under 500 mm, most of it in brief showers from October to January. The island lies at 12°N, outside the main Atlantic hurricane track — a direct hit is rare enough to be historic. The constant easterly trade wind keeps the resort coast comfortable and makes the island one of the Caribbean's windsurfing and kitesurfing capitals (Fisherman's Huts, north of Palm Beach).

High season (mid-December–March)

North American winter is Aruba's peak: Palm Beach's high-rise resorts and Eagle Beach's low-rise hotels are full, and rates are at their annual maximum from Christmas to Easter. Carnival, one of the Caribbean's biggest, runs from early January to the Grand Parade in Oranjestad the weekend before Ash Wednesday — book that week early.

The value windows

April to early June and September to November bring identical weather and 25–40% lower resort rates. Late April to May is arguably the best time on the island: the winter crowds have gone, the sea is calm and the sunsets at the California Lighthouse are uninterrupted. September and October are the quietest months — some restaurants take a break — but the hotels that are open are at their cheapest.

The 'rainy' season

October to January sees the island's few showers, typically short and at night, and a slight rise in humidity. It does not meaningfully affect a beach holiday, and October–November rates reflect the perception rather than the reality.

Booking from the engine

Queen Beatrix International (AUA) is 10 minutes from Eagle Beach and 20 from Palm Beach; US-bound travellers clear US immigration in Aruba on the way home, so allow extra time for the return. The Aruba destination page carries the resorts and the airport; a pre-booked transfer beats the queue for the timeshare shuttles.

Three things to get right

  • Late April–May: winter weather, spring prices.
  • Carnival week (before Ash Wednesday) needs booking months ahead.
  • Allow 3 hours at AUA for the US pre-clearance on the way home.
