Best Time to Visit Dubai: November to March, With the Summer Discount Explained

Dubai in January is 24°C and perfect. Dubai in August is 45°C and half price. Everything else is a matter of what you plan to do outdoors.

Why this guide: about 2,900 people a month search Google for “best time to visit dubai” (US, DataForSEO Labs, September 2026). This is the answer we would give a client, written to be booked from.

The short answer

  • Best overallNovember–March (with late January–February the pick)
  • CheapestJune–September, when hotel rates fall 40–60%
  • AvoidChristmas–New Year for prices; June–August if you want to be outside at midday

Cool season (November–March)

Daytime highs of 24–30°C, clear skies and comfortable evenings for the beach clubs, the desert and the outdoor souks. It is the peak: the Dubai Shopping Festival (late December–late January) and the New Year fireworks at the Burj Khalifa make Christmas–New Year the most expensive fortnight; the Dubai World Cup horse race (late March) and Art Dubai add smaller spikes. Book December and February by autumn.

Shoulder months (April and October)

April warms to 33°C and October cools from 35°C — both are workable with a pool and shade, and both are noticeably cheaper than the winter peak. The sea is at its warmest in October (32°C), the desert evenings are pleasant, and the crowds are thinner.

Summer (May–September)

Highs of 40–45°C with high humidity from July; life moves indoors to the malls, the aquariums, the indoor ski slope and the hotel pools (many chilled). Five-star hotels drop rates by half and add free nights and kids-stay-free deals; the Dubai Summer Surprises promotion runs July–August. If you want the Burj Khalifa, the malls and a luxury hotel at a fraction of winter prices, summer is a rational choice.

Ramadan and Eid

Ramadan (from mid-February in 2027) sees shorter hours at attractions and daytime restaurant restrictions relaxed in recent years but still present in some venues; evenings are festive and iftar buffets are a highlight. The Eid holidays that follow bring domestic and regional travellers and higher rates for a few days.

Booking from the engine

Dubai International (DXB) is 15–25 minutes from Downtown and the Marina. The engine's Middle East pages — Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Jebel Jais — cover the emirates beyond the city; a pre-booked chauffeur from DXB is standard for a luxury stay. See our Al Ula and Wadi Rum guides for the region's wider trips.

Three things to get right

  • Late January–February: cool days, festival season, fireworks done.
  • Summer for the malls and half-price five-stars; plan outdoor time before 9 a.m.
  • October has the warmest sea and falling rates.
